Jose, our founder and dog trainer, has experience with Law Enforcement and Military Working Dogs. It quickly became obvious to him that having a well trained dog takes time and effort. An obedient dog requires routine physical and mental stimulus. Jose had a vision to create a fitness & training program with the understanding of time restraints families have. In response, he has customized a fitness & training program designed to stimulate each dog's natural drive while maintaining his/her attention during a structured and safe canine training session.

"We have taken on a new dog at our house. She is a rescue and we don't have a lot of info about her past. It is pretty clear by her behavior she is not dog social. She is a wonderful companion for humans and we have fallen in love. We have two other dogs and we have spent time acclimating all of them through baby gates. We took several walks together, not letting the dogs have contact. The first walk we took and allowed minimal contact did not go well. "Jose is such a pleasure to work with. He is extremely patient and has such a way with our puppy. He has done great work in the few weeks he's been working with Sammy. Jose gives us instruction too so we know how to handle Sammy. "I can't say enough about K9 Playdate and their amazing team. My "Covid pup" had many issues due to fear. I was extremely frustrated by his behavior but had no idea how to help him. I tried two other trainers and interviewed MANY more before coming across K9 Playdate. During our initial meeting I was impressed by Jose's knowledge but also with his desire to help pups. From the start I was hesitant to try using different training tools but Jose showed me what every tool did and respected my wishes about their use. Also, Michele was amazing at organizing the training schedule, keeping me in the loop on updates and making sure I understood what was going on with my pup's training.
Over the course of my dog's training I noticed a progressive improvement in his behavior and general demeaner. Now, since his training has been completed, he's a totally different dog. "Our dog, Cooper, was having issues with reactivity-excitement towards other dogs, making walks around the neighborhood basically impossible as he was nearly 100 pounds and I was pregnant. In only four weeks, Jose was able to work on managing Cooper’s excitement and reaction to seeing dogs in multiple settings in a positive way so that we both look forward to getting out of the house. We took Cooper to a park last week for the first time since he was a puppy and had zero issues!
